Farmer’s Market Blueberry Recipe Contest Winners
First place winner of our 2010
Blueberry Recipe Contest was Martha Walsh of Mt. Royal who
made a blueberry pie with almond crumble topping; 2nd place
- Marguerite Shaeffer of Sewell who made blueberry pecan cups;
3rd place - Carol O’Connor of Mullica Hill who made
zucchini/blueberry/cherry bread. All recipes can be downloaded.

Farmer’s Market Tomato Recipe Contest Winners
The contestants in the 2009 Tomato
Recipe Contest submitted many delicious creations using our
famous Jersey tomatoes. The winners, pictured here from the
left, were Martha Walsh of Mt. Royal, 3rd place with her Creamy
Basil Soup: Kit Summers of Summer’s Salsa, 3rd place
in salsa; contest judge Dominic Polidoro, chef and owner of
The Spot; Ashley Leech of Woodbury, 2nd place with her Tomato
Tortellini Soup; Marguerite Shaeffer of Mantua, 2nd place
with her Tomato Focaccia,1st place with her sauce, and 1st
place in salsa; Lisa Leech of Woodbury, 3rd place with her
Tomato Surprise; Christine Meagher of Woodbury, 1st place
with her Roasted Tomato Soup; and May Sampoli of Clayton,
1st place with her tomato vinaigrette. Not pictured, Fran
Werner of Happy Valley Farms of Hammonton who captured 2nd
place with her salsa. Recipes for all the entries will be
posted on this page.
Woodbury Farmer’s Market
Best Tasting Tomato Winner
The winner of the 2nd annual Best
Tasting Tomato Contest at the Woodbury Farmer’s Market
was the Pink Brandywine. It was grown by Martha Walsh and
her 90 year old dad, John Lloyd, in their home garden in Mt.
Royal. The Pink Brandywine is an heirloom tomato, dating back
to the mid 1880s. It was judged to be the best tasting entry
in the contest by the customers at the Woodbury Farmer’s
Market.
