Councilwoman Heather S. Tierney


Councilwoman Heather S. Tierney has served on City Council since March 2004 and currently serves as Council President. She has previously served as the Chairperson of the Public Works Committee, and also served on the Finance and Green Acres Committees. Mrs. Tierney earned her B.A. in Economics from Gettysburg College and her M.A. in Economics from Temple University. She currently works as a tax specialist for a major U.S. tax firm.

She and her husband, John Tierney, have two sons.

Councilwoman Tierney belongs to the West End Memorial School PTA, the Greater Woodbury Jaycees, where she recently served as President, and the Central Baptist Church where she also teaches Sunday School.

Councilwoman Tierney was sworn-in as the first female Council President of the City of Woodbury at the January 3, 2012 Reorganization meeting.
