Mayor’s Message 2017
Friends and Neighbors,
As we begin the new year, it is with great pride that I am able to represent the great City of Woodbury as your new Mayor. My husband and I moved here 14 years ago and settled into an amazing community in the West End. Every day brings more reasons why it was the right decision and why we feel Woodbury is an amazing City to call home.
There are many towns and communities in the region that have their own appeal, but to raise a family and experience what it feels like to be part of a city on the verge of a new resurgence, there is none other like Woodbury.
Woodbury offers many amenities and resources all conveniently located within our 2.2 square mile City. These attributes separate us from the rest.
Woodbury has accessible creeks and waterways to canoe and kayak, with places to drop in and enjoy all over the city.
Woodbury also has many beautiful parks and trails to enjoy, whether you want to walk, bike, relax, or just take in nature’s beauty.
Woodbury has a rich History that is evident throughout the City. Our beautiful historic homes, churches, and scenic downtown draw folks from all over looking for a unique place to frequent or to call home.
Woodbury is full of diversity, making it a great place to raise open-minded and tolerant children. Our residents take pride in being a welcoming community that embraces people of all walks of life.
Woodbury has a great walkable downtown. The City is working very hard to beautify our business district and is very supportive of events and organizations that draw people onto our streets.
The City of Woodbury has begun to forge a new path that is slowly getting the city back on track. As Woodbury’s new Mayor, I encourage us all to come together to promote what makes Woodbury unique: our natural resources, our history, our diversity, and our walkability. On behalf of the City, we welcome new and life-long residents alike, to enjoy all that Woodbury has to offer.
I am looking forward to working with Woodbury’s current administration and all the folks at City Hall. I can’t wait to work with citizens that have the best interest of our City in mind. Cheers to 2017 and blazing new trails together!
